About Hotels-2012-Olympics
London will become the first city to officially host the modern Olympic Games three times. Steeped in history and cultural heritage, London will become the epicentre for the 30th Olympiad which will be hosted from the newly purpose built Olympic Park based in East London. The transformed 2.5sq km of land will also house the Olympic Village, a space dedicated to the athletes.
The total cost of staging the London 2012 Olympic Games is expected to be an estimated £9.3bn.

Aquatics Centre
The Aquatics Centre is located in the South-east corner of the Olympic Park and will be the main Olympic venue for the Diving, Swimming, Synchronised Swimming, Paralympic Swimming and Modern Pentathlon events. It will house two 50-metre swimming pools and a 25-metre diving pool. Spectators will be able to view the events from the two temporary wings that have been specially constructed for the London 2012 Olympic Games with a holding capacity of 17,500. Among the facilities at The Aquatic Centre will be a crèche, family-friendly changing facilities and a café. Outside of the Olympic Park you will also be able to visit Stratford's Cultural Quarter, The Stratford shopping centre and entertainment venues like Stratford Circus and the Theatre Royal Stratford East. The famous East End District is within walking distance of the Olympic Park and with fantastic transport links, including a brand new Channel Tunnel Rail Link and Stratford Tube Station; you'll find it easy to get out and about to visit all the sights, attractions and culture of London.

Basketball Arena
The Basketball Arena is a brand new, but temporary, arena based in the north of the Olympic Park and will play host to the Basketball, Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Rugby and Handball events. The arena will also house the Velodrome and the BMX track, making the most of the arena's resources and space. It will have the capacity to seat up to 12,000 people for the Olympics basketball events, as well and the semi-finals and finals of the Olympics handball. The Basketball Arena will also be used as a holding area for athletes during the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the games.

BMX Track
Making its debut at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, the BMX races will now play a part in the London 2012 Olympics. Based at the rear of The Basketball Arena in the north of Olympic Park, you will find this purpose built 400-metre BMX Outdoor Track. Games Riders will start each race on an 8m-high ramp. Each race will last around 40 seconds, but spectators can expect to see a course built up with jumps, bumps and tightly banked corners to challenge the riders. The track itself will have the capacity to house up to 6,000 spectators, who will have full use of the facilities within the Basketball Arena and Velodrome. Local transport links to the Capital of London are close to the BMX Track, providing visitors with access to other popular City sights and attractions.

Eton Manor
Eton Manor will be the venue for the Wheelchair Tennis. Based in Leyton, the northernmost area of the Olympic Park, this new sporting facility will be a permanent fixture on the site of the old Eton Manor Sports Club. It will host the Wheelchair Tennis during the Paralympic Games, where there will be nine competition courts and four warm-up courts enabling a combined capacity of 10,500 seats for spectators. The area of Leyton is one of the most multi-cultural parts of London, home to the New Spitalfields Market that relocated here in 1991. There are two main shopping areas in the town, located at opposite ends of the High Road and a new retail park which can be found at Leyton Mills. Leyton is served by the Central Line of the London Underground, which provides easy access to Liverpool Street and Bank-Monument stations, which are just 11 and 13 minutes away.

Handball Arena
In the west of the Olympic Arena will be the newly built handball arena which will host the Handball, Goalball and Modern Pentathlon. Spectators will enter the arena on the glazed concourse level that encircles the arena. The venue itself is 115,000 cubic metres in size – larger than the Royal Festival Hall on London's South Bank, and has the capacity to hold 6,000 to 7,000 spectators. Nearby is Hackney, the creative heart of London, and home to more artists and creative workers than anywhere else in Europe. Hackney also has more open green space than any other inner-London borough, but is most renowned for the world famous Hackney Marshes.

Lee Valley White Water Centre
